Wendy  Mitchell

Biography

Wendy Mitchell is the Director of Institutional Assessment at USAO, where she has served since 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in special education post-secondary transition and brings over 20 years of experience teaching special education, with a strong focus on supporting elementary students with low-incidence disabilities. Wendy’s career spans Oklahoma and Alaska, where she developed early childhood special education programs and has consistently championed equity and access for underserved learners. She holds multiple teaching and administrative certifications, has presented at state and national conferences, and is active in the American Education Research Association. An advocate for continuous improvement, assessment, and curriculum innovation, Wendy is also dedicated to serving on committees such as Title IX and is passionate about fostering life-long learning and growth for all students and educators.
