Biography

Laura Barrantes is originally from Colombia, where she began playing soccer at a young age and reached the professional level by age16. In 2019, Laura moved to the United States to continue her education and athletic career at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO). Laura earned a double major in Sociology and Business Administration while competing for five seasons with the Drovers.

As a student-athlete, she was a scholar-athlete, a four-time All-Conference selection, and helped lead USAO to multiple NAIA National Tournament appearances and Top 25 rankings. After starting some of her MBA coursework at Florida Memorial University, while also serving as the graduate Assistant coach for the women’s soccer program, she returned to Chickasha in Fall 2025 to join the women’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Alongside my coaching role, she is pursuing her MBA at the University of Central Oklahoma, focusing on sports management and leadership. She has also coached at the youth, high school (Newcastle High School in 2022), and collegiate levels, and has also helped managed the soccer program at Camp Seneca Lake.
