Biography
Dawn Brockman is a proven leader in connecting people to resources and innovative engagement. She joined USAO as part of the Alumni and Development team in August 2021 after a long career in service to public education, most recently as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils (2017-2022) and as the Student Congress Advisor and Leadership teacher in Norman Public Schools (2007-2021). In 2024, she became the Dean of Students for USAO.
Before her time here, she taught in the Moore School District. In between her first teaching job in the Putnam City School District and Moore, she earned her law degree at the University of Oklahoma and was an attorney for the Oklahoma State School Boards Association. In 2014, she was inducted into the Jeanine Rainbolt College of Education Alumni Hall of Fame.
The transition to Higher Ed has been has allowed her to build on her current skills for a different audience. “Tradition is so important as well as the respect for all who have come before. We have such a rich history at this university, and I’ve loved getting to know our alumni and their stories,” Brockman shared. She looks forward to using her eclectic skillset to create a firm foundation to build alumni outreach and engagement.
