Biography
Dr. Andrea Wood is a a first year professor at USAO and is also an alumni. She currently
teaches math courses for elementary teachers. Literature for Young People, and other
professional education courses. Prior to teaching at USAO, she was the district math
supervisor for Mid-Del Schools, a National Math Consultant for a publishing company,
a district math supervisor for Moore Public Schools, and an elementary and middle
teacher.
Dr. Wood was a recipient of the USAO Gladys Anderson Emerson Faculty Research Stipend.
She was able to share her applied study research at the National Council of Supervisors
of Mathematics Conference. She was a State Finalist for Oklahoma State Teacher of
the Year and also District Teacher of the Year for Moore Public Schools.
She is currently the president and a founding member of the Oklahoma Association of
Math Leaders. She is a currently a member of the National Council of Supervisors of
Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Oklahoma Council
of Teachers of Mathematics, and Central Oklahoma Math Consortium where she also serves
on various committees.
