ADMISSION TEST REQUIREMENT
The Admission Test requirement must be met for Admission into the Teacher Education Program.
The Admission Test requirement can be met in one of the following ways:
- Pass the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET),
- OR Pass the Praxis Core Test,
- OR Obtain a 3.0 GPA in all General Education courses (30 hours or more),
- OR Have a 22 ACT or 1120 SAT score (with writing scores),
- OR Have a Bachelor’s Degree.
NOTE: The State Regents for Higher Education review the testing policy for admission to teacher education each year and sometimes makes changes. Information concerning the current testing policy will be posted and available in written or electronic form.
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT
The English Proficiency requirement must be met for Admission into the Teacher Education.
The English Proficiency requirement can be met in one of the following ways:
- Candidates can complete Writing I and Writing II, or equivalent courses, with A’s and/or B’s,
- OR Candidates can earn an acceptable score on the writing potion of the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET),
- OR Candidates can earn an acceptable score on the writing portion of the Praxis Test,
- OR Candidates can earn an acceptable score on the CAAP Essay test (see USAO Assessment Director).
